I joined the Color Story Collaboration project back in June 2015 with the color blue, and I fell in love. Like most projects I started, I only lasted a few months. Back in December though, Meghan Hassold, who started the project in the first place, decided it was time to jump back in. March was interesting, and I did not realize how much orange I see in my everyday life. Also, it was a good excuse for Chinese food. Just sayin’… I hope you enjoy my March 2017 Orange!
Making my own brochures. It’ll be fun, and great practice for other projects, and for help with things at The WorcShop. Five versions later, I think I really like this version. The top is the outside, with the front being the panel on the right, and the middle being the back cover. The bottom is the inside. I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit proud of myself.
I just love the wide awake eyes and the little attitudes of one-month-old babies. They’re so cute!
Do you ever just feel like you’re stuck? In a rut? Or in a creative block? Or in a small space in your head where you’re really sure that you’re not really sure about anything? That’s how I’ve felt lately. Then Katie messaged me and told me she was in town.
After seeing this little red dress, I just could NOT resist!! I’m a big fan of Go Red for Women, and a little red dress is always my favorite!
I loved so many of these that culling the images for this collage took a bit longer than normal.

I did red once already, back in July 2015, so it was really neat to see not only a difference that 1.5 years of shooting has caused but also a difference between summer and winter here in the Northeast US.

My Love and my Mini Human went to work with me for a bit today to clean up after this crazy week at Studio 12.
I could not resist wrapping the kits in lace and doing a mini photo session with them after I did their weight check this morning. They are so adorable! My Mini Human has decided that she wants to keep Kit 3 (the mostly black one). I can’t say that I put up too much of a fight on that.
If you’d like to see the kits, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to set up an appointment with their “fur mom / fur grandma” Void SansAnge.

The summer solstice was on June 20 this year. In our house, we celebrate the changing of the seasons. For summer, I made our mini human a flower crown made out of clovers and some little purple and white flowers that I can’t identify after a couple hours of research. (I’ll edit this post to include them when I finally identify them.)
Just before sunset, I took my mini human to the field across the street , sprayed her down with bug repellant, and let her twirl around in her new summer dress. I just adore this mini human. She’s my favorite, and one of the most amazing humans I’ve ever met.

Another perk of being a VIP client, is that if ever I need to create an advertisement, I offer my VIPs the first pick! I mentioned on Thursday that the weather was going to be perfect for a “Rainy Day” session, and that I wanted to start advertising on Facebook for it. I posted in the VIP facebook group that I wanted to do the shoot. One of my favorite little families said they’d LOVE to! * yay *
We met at 10:30a on Friday morning at the park. Mom and I chatted a little bit, and then we got right to playing! I’ve been photographing these mini humans for over two years now, and I’m so excited I get to watch them grow. When we meet up, I already know that E will be full of smiles and giggles, and S will want to run around. I knew that I wanted to show them the waterfall, but to do that I would have to take them through an area that snapping turtles use for laying eggs. I told the mini’s that there might be snapping turtles around, and S was a little nervous about being snapped, so I even pinky promised him I would never let that happen.
We had so much fun playing and exploring that before we knew it, we had been playing for almost an hour and a half! I just love when I get to have days like that!

Every January, I say that I’m going to blog more.
“This year, I’m going to blog once a week, and I’m going to keep up with it. I’m going to engage with people on my blog, and I’m going to really keep up with it this year.”
Maybe 5 posts will go by and I’ll slack, only to return next January and do it all over again. This year will be different though!! I’m setting up my calendar with reminders for projects, the sunrise & sunset for every day, and a reminder to write a blog once a week. I’ll switch it up every week, so I have to actually check to see what day of the week I’m supposed to blog for that week. I’ve also made a list of 45 topics to write about, and stuck that list up next to the calendar (I have a post-it problem). This year, I *will* blog more. Maybe not every week, maybe I’ll quit in June again, but I will blog more. Maybe.
PS: For those who are curious, here’s the link to my Project 365, which is on day 388.
